The ABB REM610 is a multi-functional motor protection relay primarily used for motor protection in a variety of motor applications. It is based on a microprocessor environment with a self-monitoring system that continuously monitors the operation of relays. T
he human-machine interface includes a liquid crystal display (LCD) that makes local use of the relay safe and easy. In addition, the REM610 supports serial communication via a computer connected to a front-end communication port for local control, as well as remote control via a rear connector connected to a control and monitoring system. It also has a variety of protection functions, such as three-phase motor start monitoring, three-phase overcurrent protection, three-phase short-circuit protection, three-phase thermal overload protection, etc., to meet the needs of different motor protection12.
The REM610 also has a variety of advanced features, such as three-phase unbalance protection and reverse phase protection based on negative phase sequence current, as well as temperature protection levels with timing characteristics. It also supports a variety of sensors, such as PTC thermistors and various RTD sensors, and offers a wealth of digital inputs and outputs, including electrically isolated digital inputs and converted signal output contacts, for interacting with external devices and systems.2
